Jeff Sánchez – Head Golf Professional

A native of San Jose, Jeff initially joined the SCVCC Professional Staff in May 1998 as a PGA Apprentice. Jeff completed his PGA Apprenticeship in 1999, obtaining Class “A” Member status. In 2001, he left his role as First Assistant to pursue his lifelong dream of playing professional tournament golf full-time. After two-plus years of traveling the world dedicated to playing the game at the highest level, Jeff resumed his career as a club professional. In May 2004, Jeff rejoined SCVCC as the Head Golf Professional.

Avery Cook, PGA - First Assistant Golf Professional

 

A native of San Jose, Avery joined the SCVCC Professional Staff in April 2007.  Avery previously spent 16 years at Almaden Country Club in San Jose, obtaining PGA Class “A” status in 1997, and “Certified Professional” status in 2006. 

Avery brings extensive experience in daily operations, tournament operations, and merchandising to the golf operation at SCVCC.  His teaching philosophy revolves around the basic fundamentals of grip, stance, alignment, and posture, promoting a proper weight transfer and shoulder turn.  Avery provides instruction to men, women, and juniors of all levels.

Paul Wyrybkowski – Assistant Golf Professional

A native of Detroit, Michigan, Paul joined the SCVCC Professional Staff in April 2005. Paul moved to California in 1981 to pursue a career as a golf professional, obtaining his PGA Class "A" status in 1986.

Paul brings twenty-five years of experience as a golf instructor and custom club-fitter for players of all levels, from beginners to tour professionals. Paul’s passion for the game of golf revolves around sharing his knowledge and experience as a teacher and player to help others achieve a high level of enjoyment. 

 

Paul addresses the game in simple terms so that any student, from junior golfers to adults, can easily understand the process.  Paul combines the use of video analysis, various teaching aids, and a specific practice schedule to help all students develop a better feel for the swing, and achieve their full potential.

Krystal Shearer, PGA Apprentice - Assistant Golf Professional

A native of Northridge, California, Krystal joined the SCVCC Professional Staff in April 2008.  Krystal previously spent five years at Porter Valley Country Club, followed by two years at Woodley Lakes Golf Course in Van Nuys, California. 

A graduate of UCLA, Krystal played four years of college golf.  As a PGA Apprentice, Krystal is actively working towards completing her PGA Education and achieveing her Class "A" Member status.

Krystal is an active tournament player and teacher.  Krystal won the 2007 SCPGA Women's Championship, and the 2004 & 2007 California State Women's Championship.  She is available for private instruction by appointment only.
